IED Character Theme Assignment

Designing using a theme
Project: Pencil Box Project
Design Statement: You are to Design and finish the outside of your pencil boxes using a given theme and the principles of design.
Theme: Character
Introduction:
We all know this quote:
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”(Martin Luther King, Jr.)
What does the word character mean? What does knowing this word have to do with Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)?
Lesson:
You are to define the word character by listing all of the traits that a person should possess in order to have character. You will have to do some research but if you are successful you will find at least 8 traits (we are calling them elements).
What you should do: Open a Microsoft word document and write the elements/traits that you think make up the word character. For each trait:
1.      Define it
2.      Give an example of how this trait/element is shown by someone who possesses it
3.      There should be 5 to 8 traits/elements
4.      Raise your hand when done so that you can review your work with the teacher
Save this document in your Z drive as your name character research (example Tom character research)
