Hello: Here are the assignments for today:

Period 1: Please login to www.pltw.org and review activity 1.2.3. Make sure that you try out the circuit simulator at:
http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/circuit-construction-kit-dc

 Period 2: Log in to www.pltw.org and complete activity 2.4.A. Make your sketches on regular grid paper. If you are having trouble understanding what to do, go back to the glass box power point in activity 2.3 and review multi view sketching. Keep all of your work in your folder.

Period 4/5: Students should practice math skills at www.khanacademy.org.
Mr. McGinty will follow student progress. Students who work the entire class period will earn a  100%.

Rubric rough draft for Basic Safety Module 1

Scenario brainstorm:

1.     Scenario: Nottingham Construction Company (NCC) has won the bid to make exterior upgrades to the GW wing. Included in the planned improvements are the removal and replacement of the buildings’ built up roof and the installation of solar panels. As the safety team you must create a safe work site that will allow for the staff and students to access the building during the work day and facilitate a safe working environment for the employees of NCC.

2.     Set up a construction work site including barriers, signage, PPE station that includes:

a.     An area where an extension ladder must be safely used to access a first floor roof

b.    An area on the roof where workers must safely complete repairs to a built up roof

c.     An area in a commercial parking lot where work materials must be safely off loaded

d.    A method to safely transport heavy building materials
